I don’t have an original to compare but sounds sonically equal to my other Stones originals. Every bit as good as the DSD ABKO remasters also.

Considering this album contains 25+ minutes of music per side it sounds really damn good. I have not heard an original but if it betters this pressing it has to be a miracle. Highly recommend if you like this album.

Can anyone comment on the sound quality of this pressing compared to other versions?

I love Black Label Society, but this pressing is not that impressive. I think it has more to do with the production/mix. Everything just sounds muffled and at times distant. The slower, ballad type songs sound a bit better (probably due to things...

I have to agree with all the previous reviews. Total masterpiece and this pressing definitely does it justice.

I thought the same. I know some songs are covers but it seems very random.

I can't find any fault with this pressing. Flat, quiet, and sounds great.

Damn this album sounds great. The gatefold is also extra thick. Quality all around

I think all these 2016 re-masters sound great and Animals is no exception. Big soundstage, dynamic and flat pressing. No complaints.

Any comments on sound quality? That's a lot of music for 1 LP.

To my ears this sounds great. I don't have an original of this album to compare but I have other Stones 1st pressings and this is right up there with them.

Maybe because this is the only 2xLP version while all others squash 60 minutes worth of music on to 1 LP? BTW not all Back on Black releases are bad and some are quite good. Check out the Thin Lizzy albums on Back on Black from 2011. Those are killer.

Absolutely zero issues with this pressing. Another top notch pressing from VMP.

I agree. Great sounding album and a very nice pressing.

Great sounding album and pressing. This album was mastered by Allen Zentz in the US, same as the UK original.

I read several reviews, including below, describing distorted vocals. So I bought this recently from Acoustic Sounds knowing their return policy should anything be wrong with the record. I won't be returning this record. In fact it sounds every bit as...

Only purchase this album if you would like to have Bill Withers play live in your living room.

Just echoing the others, same stampers as the AP 200g re-issue but a fraction of the price. Great sound. Get 'em while you can!

Great album. The sound quality is very good but not great. My copy has some crackles and pops in the quiet passages. Overall I'd say: Music- 5/5, Sound- 4/5

Great album and fantastic quality record. You feel as if you're in the studio on some of these tracks.

This remaster is very good. Great clarity and very crankable.

I picked this up recently after discovering Ryan Bingham. What a great record and the pressing is top notch. Great production by Marc Ford of the Black Crowes to boot.

I agree with the previous reviewer my copy is flat and noise free. The pressing is surprisingly dynamic for an album with 25+ minutes per side.

My copy sounds fantastic. Very dynamic. I haven't compared to an original, but no complaints from me on this one. Packaging is top notch.

To echo the others, this pressing sounds great. No surprise given that Kevin Gray remastered this.

This is a great record. Music is great and the pressing is top notch. Nothing to the packaging however. I hesitate to call this country music. Lots of soul and southern rock influences.

Wow, this sounds so f*cking good! The band is literally in your living room.

If you can find a good copy it is worth it. Excellent recording and the music shines on this pressing. Excellent bass too. I haven't compared it to any of the recent re-issues but I don't plan on seeking those out after getting one of these. My only...

Great music and great pressing. The sound quality is excellent. 4.5/5.

Incredibly clear pressing. Excellent instrument separation. Probably the best this has ever sounded.

After much research I decided to buy this pressing. Glad I did, sounds great. Great clarity while retaining that Black Sabbath muddiness if that makes any sense?!?!

My first impression is this version sounds very, very good. Not magical but it gets the job done.

I picked up a used copy recently. Sound quality is very good, better than the CD from my memory.

I picked up a used copy of this album recently. Great songs and it's clear how integral Benmont Tench was to the Heartbreakers sound. The pressing quality is also very good and it is all analog. Huge bonus!

I don't have an original but I doubt I will seek one out after picking this one up. It is very clear without sounding too clean and is very crankable!

If you can find a copy of this you will not regret it. You can really feel the music on this pressing. RIP John Prine, an American treasure.

This is an A+ pressing. Easily one of my favorites from VMP and the sound is very impressive. I agree with the other reviewer that the paper inner sleeve is the only disappointment.

I'm suprised by some of the comments oh here. My copy has always sounded great. I think MOV has done a great job with Dirt, Unplugged, and the Mad Season record is amazing. No complaints from me.

Atlantic owns the masters to the first few albums according to Chuck Billy. However he said the band possesses the physical tape so anything re-released will likely be a digital remaster.

My review is for this 2011 pressing. I don't understand why people bother posting reviews of other pressings here. My 2011 Rhino pressing sounds amazing and I cannot recommend it enough. I don't own or have not heard an original pressing but I don't...

Fantastic pressing. Flat and very quiet. The music is very detailed. Sounds light years better than my old CD. Every instrument is distinct.
