Drum n Bass Style Overview
Drum n Bass Music Description
Drum and Bass (also written as Drum&Bass or drum'n'bass and commonly abbreviated as D&B, DnB, or D'n'B) is a genre of electronic music that emerged in the early 1990s in UK. It is usually characterized by fast breakbeats (165-180 beats per minute) and strong bass-lines. The genre was heavily influenced by Jazz, Dub, Funk and Hip-Hop and adopted their techniques, such as syncopation from Jazz and sampling from Hip-Hop. Due to the range of influences it has all sorts of flavors, the sound of D&B is extremely varied. Drum and Bass is often confused with Jungle from which it grew out but the main feature that distinguishes them is lack of Reggae influence over D&B.
