Who labeled Guns N’ Roses as a Hard Rock/Glam band? They were in no ways glam. They are known as the band that killed glam. Hard Rock/Heavy Metal is what they are. Mainly Hard Rock. Def not glam. Do these guys look like Poison? No.

It's a fitting description of band's early material. Appetite can be described as a glam record. And it is their most popular record.

Since when is glam limited to a single sub-genre? (Poison = hair metal.)

IMO it would be a disservice to the legacy of GNR not to include the "glam" tag as one descriptor of their style. Glam rock, glam metal, hair metal, shock rock, sleaze rock/metal, glam punk, bubblegum glam -- although each of these styles are individually identifiable, all of these styles still fall squarely beneath the broader "glam" umbrella term. Wouldn't you agree that GNR heavily lean on at least a couple of those styles? I mean to suggest that GNR absolutely have no place here is simply ludicrous. Are you familiar with the band's early years? The hair and makeup? Their influences? Same goes for bands like Bang Tango, Faster Pussycat, Sledgehammer Ledge, Tornado Babies, Smashed Gladys, and LA Guns, to name a few. These bands have always been included in the glam lists, glam zines, glam concerts, etc. Ain't nuthin wrong with being PRETTY N GRITTY!

You've got a lot to learn about music if you think that Glam is not part of the early sound of G n' R. Did you see what the band looked like early on or even in the Welcome To The Jungle video? They also cite lots of Glam bands (Hanoi Rocks, New York Dolls, etc.) as key influences.

This band is the one-hit wonder of Rock N Roll. They made 1 good album, Appetite for Destruction, and everything after that was trash.

Ilusions are at the same level as Metallica black album or U2 Achtung Baby all released at the same time more or less, all classic albums.

You have poor taste in music if you think GnR is a one-hit-wonder along with Nirvana. Wow.

Nirvana in general are extremely overrated. I've listened to both Nevermind & In Utero (In Utero being the better of the two). They were nothing more than angsty teen albums with poor production/arrangement.

Nevermind is the most overrated piece of garbage in the history of recorded music. Sounds like a bunch of amateurs badly in need of practicing the basic fundamentals of playing their instruments. Appetite For Destruction is very good, but Use Your Illusion is even better.

yep. BUT this one album "saved" rock&roll in '87 - then it died soon thereafter and - Nirvana - Nevermind saved it again four years later...

I saw them that same year and it was easily the worst show of a big-name act I’ve ever seen. Don’t get me wrong - glad you enjoyed it & my love for G N’ R (read Appetite) knows no bounds but Axl made them start about 3 hours after they were scheduled to start, his voice was weak & he acted as though he didn’t want to be there (despite a rowdy, huge, and packed house that gave much love...at first).
