Sounds is awful on this copy. Vocals are mixed way too low behind the synths, honestly sounds like listening to it on YouTube.

Re-issues coming up later this year (2020): "All the bands back catalogue has been re-mastered by Turan Audio with full guidance from the band, albums have also been recut on half speed masters at the famous Abbey Rd studios, with all vinyl art work being carefully restored to how it originally came out by “Dan Capp” Design and illustration to create beautiful vinyl re issues."

Although "great sound fidelity" and "black metal" are typically not phrases used in conjunction, this version sounds simply fantastic. I think "In the Nightside Eclipse" was already far ahead many other BM records in terms of production, and this pressing has done it justice.

Me at record store: "Hmmm well it's 35 bucks but this is a classic."
Me at home: "Is my stylus busted? This sounds like shit!"
Me after checking Discogs "Nope, I got screwed."

I owned this BOB version, along with 'Anthems'. The vinyl master is terrible - you are warned, there is no definition. Get hold of the newer 2017/18 reissues.

I bought it in Edinburgh on a trip, which pleased me very much because I couldn't get it for at least 2 years in Slovakia. It's a very nice piece and plays very well. I still think it's one of the most iconic black metal albums ever.

Don't buy this copy. The last song on side A suddenly stops. Totally disrespectful

I really like this issue. I think the remaster is fine, having compared it side by side with the OG CD rip, they really don't sound dramatically different at all, but the remaster brings out a few little details here and there which makes it at least as enjoyable if not more for me. You gotta keep in mind that this was never a hi-fi album, and neither this remaster or the original is a really a 'sound quality' experience so I'm not sure it's really worth fussing over the sound differences, honestly.
The inclusion of the '93 alternate mix of the album is the big selling point of this version, though, it's just a cool new way to hear the album. You even get three tracks from the self titled EP as a bonus. The presentation of this CD is also fantastic, my only complaint being that I prefer the artwork of the actual disc on the original version, but this is really premium otherwise. Totally recommended.
